Tamagotchi has teamed up with Kamen Rider to celebrate 50 years of the Japanese tokusatsu franchise. The original series (created by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori) was aired back in 1971 which followed a superhero with a motorcycle fighting various villains and/or organizations while suited up in a suit based on grasshoppers and other insects over the years.Since the original series each season brought a new motif including new storylines which meant new Kamen Riders. Which leads to this product that holds over forty different Kamen Rider characters to celebrate the many riders of the past. You will start off as a boy who puts on a helmet but after twenty four hours he will evolve into an adult as one of over forty Kamen Riders based on how you care for them and how you trained your character.The training comes from the two games that are available such as “Riders Kick” and “Motorcycle”. Riders Kick sees your character run and you must repeatedly press the A button within eight seconds to attempt a Riders Kick. Any button hits that are over five times helps you win the game. With motorcycle you are riding on one while dodging rocks. There are twenty rocks to dodge but hitting just one makes you lose the game.The adult stage will only last for two days before two possible ending animations occur that depends on how you care for them. If you generally took good care of them your Kamen Rider will wave goodbye before riding off on his motorcycle to fight crime elsewhere. If you severely neglect your Kamen Rider he will be defeated by his enemies known as Shock Troops who throughout the day will attempt to attack your character by pushing him off screen. You will need to press the A to have your Kamen Rider fight back with a “Riders Kick” finishing move that will get rid of them.Something to remember before buying this product is that this is a Japanese Tamagotchi Nano. Meaning the instructions are in Japanese only but you can go to Tamagotchi Wiki and find instructions there under Kamen Ridertchi. In addition not only is the device a lot smaller but this does not offer everything like a normal Tamagotchi does. You can feed it curry rice for hunger or soda for happiness or train your character in addition to pressing the C button for an animation that usually shows how your character is doing or showing it’s symbol during his evolved form. But that’s it. Your Kamen Rider doesn’t require much attention like a normal Tamagotchi would but still keep an eye on it just in case the shock troops attack like I’ve mentioned earlier. My only flaw with this product is that the buttons can be at times hard to press which can cause you to lose in the training games but this is not the case all the time and in no way does this keep me from enjoying this latest collaboration that comes in two colors green and gold. I myself have the green shell that I love dearly and I hope you have fun with this product as much as I have.

Great stocking stuffer
My 14 year old son is a huge Kamen Rider fan. I purchased his sister’s tamagotchis for their stocking stuffers, and when I saw this I knew I had to get it. He’s been keeping it on his belt, and out of the 3 kids he is actually the most attentive to it.The only issue is I didn’t anticipate it being much smaller in size to a typical tamagotchi. But it functions all the same.
