Only 90’s kids will get this review
I got this for a family white elephant gift exchange. We’re mostly geriatric millennials with one gen zish person amongst us. Everyone loved the tamagotchi, it’s was the most stolen gift! I don’t know about the battery life because I didn’t use it, but for $20 it was a great novelty gift and a real blast of nostalgia for those of us that grew up with tamagotchis in the 90’s.

Great Christmas present for 9 year old daughter
Bought this for my 9 year old daughter’s Christmas present and she really enjoyed it. It requires them to pay attention to it, but not totally take over their time like a traditional video game. They also learn a small level of responsibility and have fun taking care of a “pet” that is their own.

Works just like the old days. Didn’t hold my 9 yr olds attention for that long, but still a cute experience. Don’t start it at night or your kid will stay up all night listening to it beep needing things

Cheap remake of old school tamagotchi
I got this because I wanted the Tamagotchi‘s that are able to mate and meet the matchmaker. This one does not. After having the Tamagotchi for about two weeks you could tell the battery was dying because the beeping noise and the sound gets a lot lighter and it actually sounds like it’s breaking up and has static.This is a basic version of the original tamagotchi but without the original functionality.

This will ruin your life. It never turns off and will not stop crying for attention. You can pause the time, but as soon as you resume, it will haunt you all night with its cries of terror. Just because it’s hungry and surrounded by its own feces. I have never met anything this needy, and I work with children.(This is a great toy and captures the nostalgia of the original very well. It works amazing and it’s well made)
